  • Preparing a Cost Proposal Budget – Thursday, June 12, 2025, 9 – 11 AM

Some funding opportunity announcements request two proposals, a technical proposal on project details and a separate cost proposal on finances. The objective of a cost proposal is to provide sufficient cost information to substantiate that the proposed cost is realistic, reasonable and complete for the proposed work.
  • Populating External Budgets – Oct 16, 2025, 9 – 11 AM
This workshop covers how to enter content from internal (OR Budget Template) budgets into Cayuse SP, Cayuse 424 and other standard formats required by sponsors.

This workshop covers the preparation of NSF proposals in Research.gov.
  • Cost-Sharing and Effort in Proposals – Mar 12, 2026, 9 – 11 AM
    This workshop will cover:

    • Cost-sharing and effort definitions and requirements

    • How to calculate effort in a budget
    • How to enter cost-sharing and effort into Cayuse SP and Cayuse 424
  • Submitting Multi-Component Applications to the NIH – June 11, 2026, 1 – 3 PM
A multi-component application is a single submission with multiple, interrelated components – each with their own budgets – that share a common focus or objective. This workshop will cover how to determine the required elements of a multi-component application, how to create a multi-component application in either Cayuse 424 or NIH ASSIST, and where to find tools to aid in preparing and submitting multi-component applications to NIH.
